How to Jailbreak iOS 6 And Install Cydia

RedSn0w 0.9.13dev4 that was released by the iPhone Dev team to jailbreak iOS 6 beta works with the iOS 6 that was released to the public last week.
In this guide, we provide you the step by step procedure to jailbreak your iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 4G running iOS 6 using Redsn0w.
Here are some important points to note before you proceed.
  • This guide is only meant for iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch on iOS 6. It is currently not possible to jailbreak iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPad 2, iPad 3 running iOS 6.
  • Redsn0w 0.9.13dev4 supports only a tethered jailbreak (except for iPhone 3GS with older boot). This means that to make use of any jailbreak app, you must use the "Extras -> Just Boot" button in Redsn0w every time you reboot the device.
  • Redsn0w 0.9.13dev4 does not install Cydia currently, you need to install it manually. We'll be showing you how to do that in this guide.
  • Please do not forget to backup your iPhone to iCloud or iTunes before you proceed.
  • Please ensure you've updated iTunes to the latest version.
  • Warning: If you depend on Ultrasn0w to unlock your iPhone, then DO NOT update to iOS 6.
  • Please note that jailbreaking your iPhone may void your warranty and hence proceed with caution and at your own risk
  • Please do not jailbreak your iOS device to pirate apps from the App Store.
Follow these instructions to jailbreak your iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and iPod touch on iOS 6.
Step 1: Download RedSn0w 0.9.13dev4 from this link and save it in a folder named "Redsn0w" on your desktop.
Step 2: Download iOS 6 firmware file for your iOS device from this link for iPhone 4 & iPhone 3GS and this link for iPod Touch 4G.
Step 3: Double click the Redsn0w zip file and extract the application to the Redsn0w folder and then launch the Redsn0w application.Windows users should run Redsn0w as ‘Administrator’ (right-click on the Redsn0w exe and select 'Run as an Administrator').
Step 4: Click on the Extras button.
Step 5: Click on the Select IPSW button and select the iOS 6 firmware file that you had downloaded in Step 2. It should successfully identify the firmware file.
Step 6: Click on the Back button and then click on the Jailbreak button.
Step 7: You will now be prompted to select the options for your iOS device. Ensure that Install SSH option is enable as it will be required to manually install Cydia.
Step 8: You will now have to put your iOS Device into the DFU mode. Turn off your iOS device and connect it to the computer. Redsn0w will take you through the necessary steps:
(a) Hold the Power button on iOS device down for 3 seconds:
(b) Now simultaneously hold the Home button and keep the two buttons pressed for 10 seconds:
(c) Now release the Power button while keeping the Home button pressed until Redsn0w detects the device.
Step 9: Your iPhone should reboot now. Please remember to release the Home button.
Step 10: You iPhone will be rebooted again and Redsn0w will now begin uploading the new RAM disk and kernel.
Step 11: You will be notified that the jailbreak for the device is tethered. This means that to make use of any jailbreak app, you must use the "Extras -> Just Boot" button in Redsn0w every time you reboot the device.
Step 12: Wait for the process to complete and your iOS device to reboot.
Step 13: You need to put your iOS device in DFU mode again. Turn off your iOS device and connect it to the computer. Then follow these instructions:
(a) Hold the Power button on iOS device down for 3 seconds:
(b) Now simultaneously hold the Home button and keep the two buttons pressed for 10 seconds:
(c) Now release the Power button while keeping the Home button pressed until iTunes detects that it's in recovery mode.
Step 14: Click on the Back button and then click on the Just Boot button. A pineapple logo should appear on your iOS device, indicating a tethered boot.
Step 15: Wait for the process to complete, your iOS device will reboot multiple times and once it is complete, you should see the Lock screen on your iOS device.
That's it, your iOS device has now been successfully jailbroken.
How to Install Cydia on jailbroken iOS 6 device:
Step 1: Ensure that your iOS device and your computer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
Step 2: You now need to find out the IP address of your iOS device so that you can connect to it using SSH. Launch the Settings app and navigate to Wi-Fi, tap on the arrow next to the Wi-Fi network it's connected to, note down the IP address.
Step 3: Launch Terminal on your Mac or PuTTY (download link) on your Windows PC.
Step 4: Execute the following command: ssh root@<IP address> [Note: Replace <IP address> with the IP address you had noted in Step 2 - Example: ssh root@10.1.10.1 ]
Step 5: After few seconds it will connect to your iOS device, and prompt you if you want to connect to the device. Type yes and press Enter. You will be prompted to enter the password. Enter alpine as the password.
Step 6: After you've successfully connected to your iOS device, copy the following command and paste it into Terminal and hit Enter.
wget -q -O /tmp/cyinstall.sh http://downloads.kr1sis.net/cyinstall.sh && chmod 755 /tmp/cyinstall.sh && /tmp/cyinstall.sh
Step 7: It will download the relevant files, install Cydia on your jailbroken iOS 6 device. Your iOS device will reboot and you should now see the Cydia icon on the Home screen. Note: If you get any permission issues, you can ignore them.
Step 8: Launch Cydia, it will prepare the filesystem (which can take a few minutes) and it will exit when complete.
